Our unusually dense sandstones are characterized by a consistency and saturation of color, making them an excellent candidate for exterior veneer or thick set and raised pavers.Hand-tooled finishes can enhance the visual depth of color, provide more relief and shadow, or match the patina of a weathered local sandstone. On the practical side, hand-finishing also adds an improved friction coefficient to the pedestrian area of your project. Our Dark Grey Sandstone, is proving to be a popular solution as a hand finished paver or decking material, pool coping, wall cap or veneer for an exterior landscaping project.

Sandstone is a sedimentary coarse grained stone, composed almost entirely of sand or quartz, which is what makes it resistant to acid.
What bonds the grains of sand together is silica, calcium or iron oxide.
Sandstone offers a varied color palette depending on its iron oxide content. The presence of limonite creates yellow, brown and buff shades; the hematite produces darker browns and reds.
